Utilizing the latest technologies through extensive research and experimentation, Miyake's unconventional work goes beyond trends. Using a conceptual framework, his revolutionary micro-pleating, or plissé, would reimagine the fashion world. Born in Hiroshima in Southern Japan and attending Tama Art University in Tokyo in 1965, he arrived in Paris after graduating and later would lay the foundation for avant-garde designers worldwide.  View more
