Nixon was founded in Encinitas, California in 1998 by Andy Laats and Chad DiNenna. Creators Laats and DiNenna previously worked for Burton Snowboards and TransWorld Media, respectively, giving both of them a background in action sports before starting Nixon. Nixon started with the belief that they could make the “little stuff better.” The brand set out to create a watch that could be used during a day of surfing then kept on through the rest of the evening for a night out at the club. Nixon is established in making premium accessories with an emphasis on watches that pull inspiration from skate, surf and snow culture of California. The movements in the watches are Swiss quartz and are assembled in Switzerland. The watches are designed in a modern yet classic style that remains both durable and waterproof.  Nixon’s watch designs are a compilation of the adventures and explorations of their team and the people they meet along the way. It is through their dedicated team’s perspectives that contribute to their unified expression: team-designed, custom-built accessories for a life well-lived.
